Why is it always Detroit?

I think there is a very large number of people in the subs of Detroit and downriver,Ann Arbor is close too....So I think that might be why they choose Detroit....but the dances that I know of are in Dearborn and Taylor...I know there used to be gatherings in Flint....but they haven't had any in a long time....maybe you should get together and see if anyone would be interested in Flint parties again....I think they have one in Grand Rapids or close once a month...alot depends on availablity of rooms,so that people don't have to drive when they have been drinking....

I guess the biggest question is where is everyone from, and how much % live in one area more than another? What type of parties do they throw down there?? Dances, or other types of parties?

they are usually dances...I know in the summertime they have a 3 day BBW Bash...not sure of what group throws that.There is Phat N Finest,Volumptous Lounge,Detroit Divas...those are the local BBW groups that I know of...but sometimes there have been bowling events,summer cookouts....just depends on the time of year.....

I agree with others that there is probably a larger percentage of Michigan's BBW population closer to Detroit. And those that aren't really close, can just jump on the expressway since all expressways lead to Detroit, it probably seems like the easiest to get to. And in some cases there are people there from Ohio and that is a kind of midpoint for anyone coming up from the south also, like Toledo, etc. I know in my exprience I went to a few of the Lansing parties before, and it was the most convenient for those to meet from both the eastern and western sides of the state. I never did get to go to any of the Flint parties, but it is pretty close for me to attend there. I think that Bay City for example is just too far for some to travel for a few hours, and if someone is going to invest time into setting these up they don't want only a few people to show up, so they go where the larger population is. But meeting at a bar or something is a good idea for those that are north of Flint, I just don't know that it would be successful for a large group of people.

In the one sentence you stated that Bay City is too far for people to come just for a few hours...... it is the same for people in BC or Saginaw to go to Detroit for "just a few hours". So there is the dilemma. The thing I was trying to say is if there is anyone north of Flint that wants to party, and if there are enough of them then we should try to get something going up here somehow..... Not saying that anyone south of Flint has to come up here to party.... you all have so much going on all the time, but there are a lot of people who just can't afford to spend money on a room somewhere or the gas to go a long distance to party. Any other ideas??

Well I would suggest making plans to set up a get-together for those North of Flint at like a bar or something. Try it a few times and see how many people you get together. Then those of you who maybe want to venture further can all get together and share the expense of gas and a room and make a trip to a party that's closer to Detroit once in a while. Just a suggestion. It just takes one person to set up the gathering, so maybe you should find a place that's in your area, invite people, and see what happens.
