Of course there r the bangers like "Thick", "Front 2 Tha Back" and "East K-Y" but A.A.I. offers my listeners a glimpse at who I am. "All Day Every Day" is a nostalgic look at my childhood back in Louisville, KY. And "Best friends 4 Life" chronicles my relationship with the best friend I've ever had Heath Williams.
"I fucking hate gay people! Yeah I said it...a long time ago."
That's how I start my song "Homophobic" because I truly use 2 feel that way. But I've grown up since then and realized that a person's sexuality does not define who they r anymore than the color of my skin defines me. As cliche' as it sounds I have many gay and lesbian friends now. Why? Because I know that they r people, not just a sexual orientation just as I am a person not just a skin color. U feel me?
"Not My Name" is about my distaste 4 the word nigger and all it's variations. (Nigga, niggah, niggaz, etc.) And "Willie Lynch" discusses the impact that the slave mentality has on us 2 this very day.
"just Like A Rose" is a nasty little collaboration with 2 of my people here in Morehead Ice and A-Love. It has shocked some of my fans. But damn, I have 3 kids.. I HAVE have sex. lol! The bottom line is A.A.I. has something 4 everyone. 20 plus tracks and each one is a piece of me. I'll have the finished product in hand in just days so hit me up if u want 1!
May u live 2 see the dawn,
D'
